چکیده
Broadband shock-associated noise (BBSAN) is an important component of supersonic jet for jets at off-design conditions when the pressure nozzle exit different from ambient. Two high-area-ratio under-expanded ratios (NPRs) 3.4 and 4.2 are considered. The correspond to experiment in Laboratory Turbulence Research Aerospace Combustion (LTRAC) Supersonic Jet Facility Monash University. Flow solutions obtained by large eddy simulation (LES) Reynolds averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) methods. validated against particle image velocimetry (PIV) data. For spectra predictions, LES solution combined with time-domain Ffowcs Williams–Hawkings method. To probe accuracy reduced-order method based on acoustic analogy, RANS substituted Morris Miller BBSAN method, where options modelling correlation scales investigated. predictions compared experimental data non-anechoic LTRAC facility NASA empirical sJet model. Apart low frequencies influenced mixing noise, RANS-based align those most range Strouhal numbers (St) 0.4 < St 2 within 1–2 dB.

Noise from Imperfectly Expanded Supersonic Coaxial Jets
Experiments have characterized the acoustics of axisymmetric high-speed jets at a variety of Mach numbers and velocities and at pressure-matched, overexpanded, and underexpanded conditions. The effect of an annular secondary ow on noise emission was also investigated. The fully expanded jet velocity ranged from 630 to 920m/s and the fully expanded jet Mach number ranged from 1.27 to 1.75.The s...
متن کاملExpanded viewpoint for broadband antireflection coating designs.
Examining spectral regions outside of the band where an antireflection coating is specified can aid in finding optimal design solutions. The reflectance versus wavenumber plots at low frequencies indicate the overall thickness of the design. These plots also point to whether the design will provide the minimum possible average reflectance in the specified band. It has been discovered that these...
متن کاملSignal to Noise Ratio of XPCS using High Efficiency Area Detectors
X-ray Photon Correlation Spectroscopy [1,2] is a novel measurement method which allows us to explore dynamics in new regions of time wave-number space. Although XPCS is a powerful technique, the selection of systems we can study, and the lengthand timescales we can achieve are limited by the signal to noise ratio (SNR). In this talk a simple study of SNR is presented, which shows, that apart fr...
متن کاملBroadband sound generation by confined turbulent jets.
Sound generation by confined stationary jets is of interest to the study of voice and speech production, among other applications. The generation of sound by low Mach number, confined, stationary circular jets was investigated. Experiments were performed using a quiet flow supply, muffler-terminated rigid uniform tubes, and acrylic orifice plates. A spectral decomposition method based on a line...

Good daylighting design in buildings not only provides a comfortable luminous environment, but also delivers energy savings and comfortable and healthy environments for building occupants. The importance of using daylight in educational buildings is because of the synchrony of operating hours of the school and daylight plenitude the sky. Daylight improves environmental quality and saves energy ...
